Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend K.Zarbaliyeva / The former Health Minister of Azerbaijan, Ali Insanov, may be transferred to the treatment institution. The Chief of the Health Department of the Justice Ministry of Azerbaijan, Rafael Mehdiyev, said on 24 May that the former Minister Appealed to the Chief of the Investigation Isolator No. 1 to transfer him to the treatment institution of the Penal Service.
According to the Chief of the Department, in the near future Hasanov will be examined by the specialists of the Health Department. A decision will be made depending on the results of the examination.
Arrested in October 2005 for attempting a coup d'etat, Ali Insanov was found guilty with regards to crimes linked with corruption and he was sentenced to 11-year's imprisonment and confiscation of his property. Currently Hasanov is detained in Bayl Investigation Isolator No. 1 of the Penal Service of Azerbaijan.
Due to his health problems, Hasanov asks to send him to the treatment institution of the Penal Service.
