Chess Master Vugar Hashimov Shares Second and Third Place in Kapablanka Memorial

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. Z.Safarov / The Azerbaijani chess master Vugar Hashimov shared second and third place with another player at the traditional Kapablnka memorial, which ended in Havana.

The game between Hashimov, who gained 5.5 points, and Hisus Negereus, the host of the game, ended in a draw.

Lenyer Dominges, the representative from Cuba, gained the same points at the end. Vasili Ivanchuk, the Ukrainian, became the champion.

Notably, the chess master had victory in his sight long before the start, he gathered 2 points long before the finish.

Ten other chess masters participated in the memorial, held by round robin.
