Zarbaliyeva / The lawsuit of the Editor-in-Chief of the Yeni Chirag newspaper, Agil Alaskarov , initiated by the chairman of the Azerbaijani Intelligentsia Movement, Eldaniz Guliyev , has been closed. According to the co-chairman of the Institution of Freedom and Security of Reporters, Emin Huseynli, Guliyev removed a part in the lawsuit demanding holding the journalist accountable.
The lawsuit by Guliyev initiated due to the 'Slave Life' (11 March, 2007) and 'Apology' (8 April, 2007) published in the Yeni Chirag was partially authorized by the Baku City Sabail District Court. Alaskarov was fined with AZN 100,000 and a disproof relating to the articles was published in the newspaper.
