Azerbaijan’s Justice Ministry says Former Azerbaijani Health Minister does not Need Stationary Treatment

Azerbaijan, Baku/ Trend , corr. K. Zarbaliyeva/ The former Azerbaijani Health Minister, Ali Insanov, does not need stationary treatment. The Head of the Health Department of Azerbaijan's Justice Ministry, Rafael Mehdiyev, said that Ali Insanov underwent repeat medical examinations and there are no serious problems with his health. Therefore, there is no necessity to send him to the Medical Centre of the Azerbaijan Penitentiary System.

Arrested in October 2005 for attempting a coup d'etat, Ali Insanov was found guilty with regards to crimes linked with corruption and he was sentenced to eleven years' imprisonment and the confiscation of his property. Currently Hasanov is detained in Bayl Investigation Isolation cell No. 1 of the Penal Service of Azerbaijan.

Due to health problems, Hasanov requested that he be sent to the Medical Centre of the Penitentiary System. The medical examination confirmed that Hasanov suffered from a hernia in his back
