Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / The State Committee on Work of Azerbaijanis Residing Abroad reported on 11 June that the Society of Azerbaijani Women 'Sara Khatun' began operating in London.
The aim of the structure, established due to the initiative of Simuzar Baloglanov, the Co-Chairman of the Azerbaijani Youth club, is to join women, residing in Great Britain, as well as to inform the world about the position of Azerbaijani women in society.
They plan to publish a book about the life and activities of Sara Khatun, the first women diplomat of Azerbaijan and create an Internet website in English.
The new society will render assistance to involve Azerbaijani women, residing in different countries, to social political life of the country in which they reside.
The Society will also cooperate with representatives of Turkey and other similar societies that function in London.
The agreement on joint-functioning with Turkish Diaspora organizations is expected to be reached in the near future.
