Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. E.Javadova / The criminal trial involving Azerbaijan's former Minister of Economic Development, Farhad Aliyev, his brother Rafik Aliyev, former President of the Azpetrol Group of Companies, and seventeen other people, continues with the victims' testimonies at the Court of Grave Crimes presided over by Judge Tofik Pashayev.

Some twenty-five disabled victims of the Chernobyl nuclear accident and the Karabakh war gave their testimonies on 21 June regarding the illegal privatization of vouchers assigned by Presidential decree in 2004, which were originally meant for distribution among veterans and the disabled.

The victims said that they appealed to local banks for receiving their vouchers from August to November 2004, but instead of the vouchers they were offered 20,000 in Azerbaijani old manats. Perceiving this as an insult the victims refused to take the money. The victims demanded their vouchers from the Court, which were appropriated by Farhad Aliyev.
