She was "completely out of it" during the photo shoot that turned out to be devastating and "so bad" that the photos could "kill her career."
Spears, reportedly paranoid and fearing at one point the ceiling was about to cave in on her, was photographed with her eyes rolled back in her head in one of the shots making her look half dead.
The troubled mother of two was extremely erratic and took many bathroom breaks, tells a source, each time returning in a completely different mood.
Spears, seen last week frolicking in her bra and panties by the beach, ordered some fried chicken while at the magazine's set. After she finished eating it, to wipe her hands clean she didn't bother with tissues opting instead to use the several thousand dollar Gucci dress that she was wearing for the shoot, soiling it in the process.

Spears fired her entourage the week before last and was sans her fav cousin/ personal assistant Ali. She also insisted on a trashy do-up and refused to be prettied up by the magazine's snazzy make-up and hair artists.
