Taekwondo to Maintain Registration in Championship : Vice-President of Federation

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. Z.Safarov / Fizuli Musayev, the Vice-President of the Azerbaijani National Federation, has noted that taekwondo has retained its registration for the Olympic Game until 2012.

According to Musayev, this decision was made during the session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) in Singapore in 2006. "The experts of IOC observed the recent World Championship in Beijing personally and became convinced of the sport's popularity and importance. The next session of the IOC regarding the program of Olympic Games 2016 will be held in Copenhagen in 2009.
