Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Alizadeh / Judge Vugar Khasayev stated that the appeal on the decision to arrest Mushvig Huseyinov, the collaborator of Our way newspaper will be considered in the Baku Appeals Court under the chairmanship of Judge Rahman Mirzoyev, on 3 August at 12.00.
Huseyinov was arrested on 24 July by law enforcers for taking a $3,500 bribe from an official of the Labour and Social Protection of Population Ministry. A criminal case has been filed in accordance to Article 311.1 (bribe taking) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. Huseyinov was sentenced to three months in prison by the decision of the Nasimi District Court. The journalist has pleaded not guilty.
