Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr E. Javadova / A preparatory hearing regarding a soldier of Azerbaijani National Army, Validdin Hamatov, accused of being an informant was held at the Court Martial on Serious Crimes presided by Judge Iskandar Hajiyev on 6 August.
Hamatov, 26, was drafted to military service in 2006 by the Military Registration of Gusar region and was serving in a military unit of Aghdam region. Several times from 28 August, 2006 to 2 September 2006 he voluntarily passed to the Armenian side and transmitted information relating to the military unit, its administration, officers and soldiers. The fact was disclosed by special service.
The trial is scheduled for 20 August.
