Lawyer of Former Azerbaijani Minister for Economic Development Submits Petition
Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. E.Javadova / The criminal trial involving Azerbaijan's former Minister of Economic Development, Farhad Aliyev, his brother Rafik Aliyev, former President of the Azpetrol Group of Companies, and seventeen other people, continued at the Court of Heinous Crimes presided by Judge Tofik Pashayev.
Isakhan Ashurov, the lawyer of F.Aliyev, has submitted a petition to question additional witnesses regarding illegal appropriation of 5 facilities, which were under the control of the Azerbaijani Health Ministry, the building of the Supreme and Appeal Courts, kindergarten 140 and 15, the plant situated in Davud Aslan street, as well as bribery. The judge postponed consideration of the petition. Eight civilians were questioned due to illegal privatization of facilities.
F.Aliyev, R.Aliyev and seventeen other people who worked in the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan are charged with bribery, abuse of power, misappropriation of state properties and other crimes. The trial is in progress.
