(wp.com) - British royal Prince William and Kate Middleton's romantic holiday in the Seychelles has people speculating more than ever that not only have the two rekindled their romance, but that a wedding is most definitely on the cards.
The announcement, along with the news that Middleton has been given the keys to Clarence House, has bookies placing new odds on an impending engagement.
William and Kate flew to the 5,000 pounds-a-week Desroches Island Resort in the Seychelles for a weeklong holiday last week, reports the Daily Mail.
Checking in under the names of 'Martin and Rosemary Middleton', this trip was unlike others where they have been joined by a large crowd of friends.
The holiday has also caused bookmakers William Hill to offer 25/1 odds that Middleton will return from the Seychelles an engaged woman, and a 250/1 odd that the couple will get married on this holiday.
Hill's have slashed the price of Kate and William get engaged in the next five years from 3/1 to 1/1, with 2008 the favorite year at 2/1 with 2007 offered at 5/1.
One well-placed insider said that Middleton being given a pass to Clarence House was a 'logistical way of bringing her into the fold'.
"Kate being given a pass to Clarence House is a very clear and practical step towards putting her relationship with Prince William on a more official footing. It's a logistical way of bringing her into the fold," the paper quoted the source, as saying.
Another source added: "Things are a lot more imminent than you understand...plans for William and Kate have been ring-fenced."
