Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend Sh.Jaliloglu/ The US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Anne E. Derse, who is on visit to Azerbaijan's district of Agjebedi said that the visit of the American and Russian experts to Gabala by the end of the year is on the agenda.
According to Derse, the US position is obvious on this issue. The Ambassador said that the Russian proposal highlights its wish to cooperate with the US in order to defend the missile defence system.
"At the same time, there are certain threats of which Russia understands the existence," the Ambassador said.
She stated that Gabala Radar Station belongs to Azerbaijan and therefore, Azerbaijan should also be involved in the issue.
Regarding the US plans to establish missile defence systems in the Republics of Czech and Poland, the Ambassador said that it is an improvement of the defence system and it cannot affect the strategic balance. "It presents no threats to Russia," Derse added.
