As part of the visit of representatives of Swiss business circles to Azerbaijan, their meeting with Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev was held, Trend reports citing the Azerbaijani Embassy in Switzerland Oct. 22.
At the meeting, the results of the visit were evaluated, and further prospects were discussed in the context of bilateral and multilateral relations with Switzerland.
The delegation praised the cooperation in various fields of economy and finance with Azerbaijan, including the work of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in Switzerland and partnership with Pasha Bank. Among other things, it was noted that there is great potential for cooperation in the fields of communications, information technology, tourism, transport and other areas.
Representatives of companies representing the financial and banking sectors took an interest in the possibilities of establishing business relations in Azerbaijan’s insurance sector.
The guests were also informed about the goals and further opportunities outlined in this area in connection with the strategic roadmap for the development of Azerbaijani economy. Swiss businessmen emphasized that cooperation is being discussed on the transportation of goods along transport and transit corridors through Azerbaijan as part of the One Belt One Road initiative with China.
The guests were informed about Azerbaijan’s economic opportunities, ongoing reforms and prospects of the non-oil sector.
