The data on payments in the Azerbaijani insurance market for the first quarter of 2020 has been disclosed, Trend reports citing the report of Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
According to the report, Azerbaijani insurance companies paid insurance claims in the amount of 77 million manat ($45.2 million) in 1Q2020, which is 30.8 million manat ($18.1 million) or 66.6 percent more compared to 1Q2019.

It is noteworthy that the growth in insurance claims paid in March 2020 exceeds the indicators of the same month of 2019 by 14.6 million manat ($8.5 million), or 2.1 times, despite the fact that in March 2020 the fees decreased by 26.5 percent compared to March 2019 years, in connection with the application of restrictive measures under the special quarantine regime associated with the coronavirus pandemic.
Today, 22 insurance companies and one reinsurance company operate in Azerbaijan.
