Azerbaijani satellite operator, Azercosmos OJSC, has signed a cooperation agreement with the Chinese Satelliteherd high-tech company, Trend reports citing Azercosmos, Trend reports.
Satelliteherd carries out commercial activities in the space industry in China.
“According to the agreement, the Chinese company has installed a terrestrial antenna with a diameter of 4.2 meters in the Main Ground Satellite Control Center of Azercosmos. It will be used to monitor satellites and satellite networks, check their status, receive telemetry data, etc. Satelliteherd, a company with extensive experience in the field of space technology, will provide, thanks to the installed antenna, reliable and modern solutions for receiving signals from satellites,” the report says.
According to the Commercial Director of Azercosmos Mark Guthrie, the parties will actively cooperate in the field of satellite solutions.
In turn, Liecheng Yang, Executive Vice President for International Business of Satelliteherd, noted that the unique and advantageous location of the Azercosmos Main Ground Satellite Control Center will allow the Chinese side to provide more reliable services for commercial satellites this and next years.
