BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 5

By Sadraddin Aghjayev - Trend:

The Baku International Sea Trade Port is integrating its e-system into the e-system of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee and structures of foreign countries, Head of the Strategic Planning and Development Department of the Baku International Sea Trade Port Khudayar Hasanli said in an interview with Trend.

“The system integration will allow the customs services to receive information about the goods they carry even before the arrival of the corresponding transport,” Hasanli said.

"Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, together with the OSCE, within the transportation of goods across the Caspian Sea, are creating a unified data transmission system in the field of digitalization,” the head of the department said. “The creation of a data exchange system between the Baku port and the Aktau port is at the final stage.”

“A system for managing and transmitting data on cargo between the port of Baku and the port of Turkmenbashi has been prepared,” the head of the department said. “From our side, such a system has already been prepared. We expect such a system in Turkmenistan. Our port will also receive and forward e-information about cargoes to the Alat port.”

“Such systems are being prepared by the Azerbaijan Railways and the State Customs Committee," Hasanli said. “The implementation of these projects will greatly reduce the downtime both at customs points and in ports.”

"Despite this process has not yet been completed, we are already receiving e-information about the goods being transported by big-sized wheeled vehicles,” the head of the department said. “The work of expanding digital capabilities continues."
