Non-cash payments of Azerbaijan’s PASHA Bank increase in 1H2021

Non-cash payments in the turnover of the Azerbaijan’s bank PASHA Bank in the first half of 2021 increased by 20 percent, or more than four billion manats ($2.3 billion) and amounted to 24.4 billion manats ($14.4 billion), Chief Financial Administrator and Board Member of PASHA Bank Bahruz Nagiyev said in an interview with Trend.

According to Nagiyev, operations via POS (point-of-sale) terminals increased by 138 percent, or more than 621.5 million manats ($366 million) and exceeded 1.071 billion manats ($630 million).

"The value of payments by bank cards also increased and reached 1.4 billion manats ($824 million), which exceeds the figure for 1H2020 by 54 percent, or 493.1 million manats ($290 million). The main drivers of growth of these indicators are the development of the digital environment of our bank, as well as the expansion of digital channels in Azerbaijan," he declared.

Nagiyev stressed that in PASHA Bank solutions are created not by traditional methods, but based on a survey of its private and corporate clients

“We have simplified the payment processes as much as possible for both private holders of bank cards and business sectors,” he stressed.

It is noted that the share of PASHA Bank's cash turnover in 1H2021 accounted for almost 3.8 billion manats ($2.9 billion), which exceeds the figure for the same period last year by 15 percent, or 494.5 million manats ($291 million).
