The trends in the installation and use of solar panels will gain relevance in the world in 2022, which will stimulate the introduction of other types of renewable energy sources, Trend reports on Dec. 20 citing the Wood Mackenzie leading research and consultancy business for the global energy, chemicals, metals and mining industries.

The company expects the development of solar energy to become a target in many important global markets.

"China will continue to take steps to expand the use of solar energy in rural areas," the company added. "Germany’s new coalition government set a goal to install solar panels with a total capacity of 200 gigawatts in the residential sector by 2030. The solar energy will remain the dominant model in Japan, Australia, Belgium and Poland."

Wood Mackenzie’s analysts think that solar power will continue to be used to charge electric cars in the US.

"More countries will use solar panels and storage devices to supply power to low-income consumers in 2022," analysts said.

Wood Mackenzie started life in 1923 as an Edinburgh-based stockbroker. By the 1970s, Wood Mackenzie had become one of the top three stockbrokers in the UK, renowned for the quality of its equity research.
