BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 30. The trade volume in Azerbaijan's Baku increased by 5.5 percent in January through February 2022 compared to the same period in 2021 and amounted to nearly 3.9 billion manat ($2.3 billion), Trend reports citing the State Statistical Committee.
According to the agency, sales of food, beverages and tobacco products in Baku's trade network grew by 2.7 percent in the reporting period compared to 2021 and totaled 2.05 billion manat ($1.2 billion).
Non-food product sales increased by 9.2 percent and exceeded 1.9 billion manat ($1.1 billion).
The Committee noted that 36.8 percent of sold products accounted for enterprises with the status of a legal entity, 41.8 percent - for trade facilities owned by individual entrepreneurs, and 21.4 percent - for the markets of the capital.
