BAKU. Azerbaijan. May 17. Some 85 percent of the EU companies working in Azerbaijan account for the environmental awareness sector, as of 2021. which is is an increase of 18 percent, compared to 2020, Trend reports via the sixth edition of the EU Business Climate Survey.
According to the survey, among those companies, some 34 percent are involved in energy efficiency sector, 32 percent – in emissions reduction, and another 32 percent – highly recyclable materials.
Moreover, 14 percent of the EU companies in Azerbaijan actually use renewable energy in their production process, said the report.
Meanwhile, the majority of the EU businesses, in particularly, 56 percent, think that financial support for the private sector is the most effective mechanism in terms of “greening” the economy, the report said.
The report also said the EU provided essential support to Azerbaijan in terms of switching to alternative energy sources. Also, several flagship investment projects were launched in the country.
