BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9. The export value of Azerbaijan’s cotton increased from January through April 2022, Trend reports via the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC).
According to the committee, this figure amounted to $122.2 million, up by 7.35 percent on annual basis.
The share of cotton in total Azerbaijani exports in the first four months of this year equaled 1.03 percent.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan imported cotton for $1.7 million, which is 0.54 percent more than in 4M2021, and the share of cotton in total Azerbaijani imports decreased from 0.05 to 0.04 percent over the year, added the SCC.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover totally increased by $5.97 billion (60.3 percent) from January through April 2022 compared to the same period of last year - from $9.8 billion to $15.8 billion.
Exports accounted for $11.8 billion in the structure of foreign trade turnover, which is growth of $5.4 billion (85.7 percent) year on year, while the share of exports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 74.5 percent against 64.3 percent a year earlier.
Azerbaijan's imports increased by $511.6 million (14.5 percent) in 4M2022, from $3.5 billion to $4.04 billion, and the share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 25.4 percent against 35.6 percent a year earlier.
