BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 9. Green hydrogen production may become one of the fields of future cooperation between Germany and Azerbaijan, Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action told Trend.
“Azerbaijan continues to play an important role as a reliable supplier of energy commodities for Germany. Apart from immediate needs for oil and gas, the German government is interested in cooperation in renewable energy sector with Azerbaijan. This includes green hydrogen production as well,” the ministry said.
According to the source, as part of project-related energy cooperation, German Energy Agency (dena) supported Azerbaijani Energy Ministry in creating and optimizing the framework conditions for the expansion and development of decentralized energy supply using renewable energy.
“The joint project to develop recommendations for action was carried out in 2021 on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Action. The implementation of the cooperation was supported by the Azerbaijan Renewable Energy Agency (AREA),” the ministry added.
