BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 20. Volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkiye, from January through May 2022, amounted to $2.4 billion, or 31.28 percent of the total Azerbaijani foreign trade turnover, Trend reports with reference to the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
According to committee, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkiye increased by 31.37 percent from January through May 2022 compared to the same period in 2021 when it amounted to $1.8 billion.
Turkish imports from Azerbaijan amounted to $1.6 billion from January through May 2022, which is 32.68 percent more than in the same period in 2021 ($1.2 billion).
Turkish exports to Azerbaijan amounted to $851.8 million from January through May 2022, which is 28.99 percent more than in the same period in 2021 ($660.4 million).
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover increased by 73.87 percent, or $8.7 billion from January through May 2022 compared to the same period last year, from $11.8 billion to $20.5 billion.
Exports, in the structure of foreign trade turnover accounted for $15.4 billion, which is $7.9 billion (107.57 percent) more than from January through May 2021. The share of exports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 75.01 percent against 62.83 percent year earlier.
Azerbaijan's import increased by $724.6 million or 16.91 percent, in the reporting period, from $4.3 billion to $5.1 billion. The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 24.9 percent against 37.1 percent a year earlier.
