BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. From January-July 2022, Azerbaijani solar power plants produced 37 million kilowatt-hours of electricity from January through July 2022, which is 17.5 percent more, compared to the same period last year, Trend reports with the reference to the State Statistics Committee.

According to the report, 15 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced in Azerbaijan over the reporting period of 2022, which is 2.9 percent more than over the same period of 2021. Of these, 14.7 billion kilowatt-hours was commercial electricity (an increase of 2.6 percent year on year).

Of the total electricity production in Azerbaijan over the first seven months of this year, 1.1 billion kilowatt-hours came from hydroelectric power plants, which is 33.8 percent more year-on-year, and 13.5 billion kilowatt-hours came from thermal power plants, which is 0.9 percent more year-on-year.

Meanwhile, during the reporting period, wind power generation in Azerbaijan amounted to 18.4 million kilowatt-hours, which is 65.7 percent less than from January through July 2021.
