BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 2. Azerbaijan imported 153.1 tons of coffee worth $1.5 million from January through June 2022, Trend reports via the State Statistics Committee.

According to the committee, the value and volume of coffee imports grew by 20.6 percent and 7.7 percent on annual basis, respectively.

In the first half of this year, 42.2 tons of coffee were imported from Italy (an increase of 45 percent over the year) in the amount of $567,000 (up by 30 percent), 19.9 tons - from Russia (an increase of 68.3 percent) in the amount of $131,000 (growth by 2.3 times), and 37.9 tons – from Türkiye (an increase of 16 percent) in the amount of $264,000 (up by 5.6 percent).

Meanwhile, the import of coffee from Sweden and Spain resumed [previously the product was last time imported from these countries in 2018 and 2020, respectively]. A total of 10 kg of coffee worth $100 was imported from Sweden and 100 kg in the amount of $1,200 from Spain in the first half of this year.
