BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 15. Agricultural production in Azerbaijan in actual prices grew from January through August 2022, Trend reports via a report of the State Statistics Committee.
According to the report, this figure amounted to 7.4 billion manat ($4.3 billion), up by 16.24 percent on an annual basis.
In the first eight months of this year, livestock production in Azerbaijan increased by 2.7 percent compared to the same period in 2021, and crop production – increased by 3.6 percent.
Over the reporting period, 2.9 million tons of grains and legumes were harvested in Azerbaijan from an area of 954,600 hectares (96.8 percent of the total sown area). The average yield was 30.8 centners per hectare.
As of September 1, there were harvested 864,500 tons of potatoes (an increase of 4.4 percent over the year), 1.4 million tons of vegetables (a growth of 1.3 percent), 479,300 tons of fruits and berries (up by 11.3 percent), 73,600 tons of grapes (an increase of 2.51 percent), and 760,800 tons of green tea (a decrease of 21.47 percent).

Azerbaijan produced 364,200 tons of meat, 1.4 million tons of milk and 1.3 million chicken eggs from January through August 2022. The production of meat increased by 2.91 percent, milk - by 1.66 percent, and chicken eggs - by 4.25 percent compared to the first eight months of 2021.
