BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. The number of Azerbaijani citizens who visited foreign countries significantly grew from January through August 2022, Trend reports via Azerbaijan’s State Statistics Committee.
According to the committee, this figure amounted to 983,000 people, up by 1.8 times annually.
Some 48 percent of the above Azerbaijani citizens visited Türkiye, 17 percent - Russia, 11.4 percent - Iran, 8.4 percent - Georgia, and 15.2 percent - other countries in the first half of this year.
The number of citizens who visited Iran increased by 3.4 times over the year, Türkiye - by 1.8 times, Georgia - by 1.8 times, and Russia – by 1.2 times.
Meanwhile, according to the committee, 1 million foreigners and stateless persons (an increase by 2.3 times) from 173 countries visited Azerbaijan.
