BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 16. The trade turnover of Azerbaijan with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries exceeded $3.62 billion from January through August 2022, and its share in total Azerbaijani foreign trade turnover amounted to 32.98 percent, Trend reports via the Bulletin of Azerbaijan’s State Customs Committee.

Azerbaijan's trade turnover with CIS countries increased by $834.698 million (29.9 percent) from January through August 2022. The share of these states in the total volume of import-export operations of Azerbaijan rose by 1.24 percent - up to 32.98 percent.

In the reporting period, Azerbaijan's total foreign trade turnover increased by $14.828 billion (73.1 percent) compared to the same period last year, from $20.28 billion to $35.11 billion.

Imports, in the structure of foreign trade turnover, accounted for $8.86 billion, which is $1.51 billion (20.67 percent) more than from January through August 2021.The share of imports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 25.26 percent against 36.23 percent a year earlier.

Thus, there was a surplus in trade turnover, increased by more than $11.79 billion year-on-year, or more than 3.11 times, to $17.376 billion against $5.585 billion from January through August 2021.
