BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. The trade turnover of Azerbaijan with European countries exceeded $21.04 billion from January through September 2022, while the share of these countries in Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover amounted to 52.85 percent, Trend reports citing the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC).

In the reporting period, Azerbaijan's trade turnover with European countries grew by 2.18 times or $11.4 billion on an annual basis.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover increased by 73.3 percent from January through September 2022 or $16.84 billion compared to the same period of 2021, from $22.97 billion to $39.8 billion.
The exports accounted for $29.5 billion of foreign trade turnover, which was $14.89 billion (101.79 percent) more than in the first nine months of 2021. The share of exports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 74.15 percent against 63.68 percent a year earlier.
Azerbaijan's imports increased by $1.9 billion or 23.35 percent in the reporting period, from $8.3 billion to $10.29 billion. The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 25.85 percent against 36.32 percent a year earlier.
Thus, the positive balance of foreign trade turnover rose above $12.9 billion or 3.05 times year on year, up to $19.2 billion (against $6.28 billion from January through September 2021).
