BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 20. Agricultural production in Azerbaijan in actual prices grew from January through September 2022, Trend reports via a report of the State Statistics Committee.
According to the report, this figure amounted to 8.9 billion manat ($5.2 billion), up by 2.9 percent - up to 3.89 billion manat ($2.2 billion)on an annual basis, and in crop production - by 3 percent, up to 5 billion manat ($2.9 billion).
Over the reporting period, 3.047 million tons of grains and legumes were harvested in Azerbaijan from an area of 971,000 hectares (98.5 percent of the total sown area). The average yield was 31.4 centners per hectare.
As of October 1, Some 1.021 million tons of potatoes (an increase of 3.77 percent over the year), 1.66 million tons of vegetables (a growth of 1.6 percent), 466,500 tons of melons (up by 1.81 percent), 765,600 tons of fruits and berries, 182,300 tons of grapes (an increase of 0.72 percent), and 818,200 tons of green tea (a decrease of 19.25 percent).
