Turkiye reveals data on transshipment of agricultural products and livestock through local ports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 1. Turkish ports handled 12.1 million tons of agricultural products and livestock from January through October 2022, Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure told TurkicWorld, Trend reports.

Ships flying the Turkish flags transported 364,562 tons of agricultural products and livestock through local ports during this period, while ships under the flags of other countries – 11.7 million tons.

Meanwhile, 92,445 tons of agricultural products and cattle were transited through the Turkish ports from January through October 2022.

Turkish ports totally handled 330.8 million tons of cargo from January through September 2022.

During the accounting period, cargo transportation by ships under the flag of Türkiye through local ports amounted to 23.7 million tons, and by ships under the flags of other countries – 307 million tons.

Moreover, the ports of Turkiye delivered 66 million tons of transit cargo from January through September 2022.

In 2021, the ports of Türkiye received 386.39 million tons of cargo.

During the reporting year, freight transportation by Turkish-flagged ships via domestic ports amounted to 29.9 million tons, whereas the cargo traffic by ships flying other countries' flags reached 356.39 million tons.

Furthermore, Turkish ports transshipped 78 million tons of transit cargo last year.
