BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 10. As many as 7.88 million passengers were carried by the Ankara Esenboga International Airport of Türkiye in November 2022, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Türkiye said, Trend reports via TurkicWorld.
According to the ministry, this figure was 23 percent more than in the same period of 2021.
In the reporting month, the airport's domestic air passenger traffic equaled 6.1 million people (a growth of 18 percent), whereas international passenger traffic reached 1.75 million people (a growth of 49 times).
Meantime, Ankara's Esenboga International Airport handled 86,206 tons of cargo, which was 19 percent more than in November 2021.
During this period, the airport's domestic air cargo traffic amounted to 53,369 tons (a year-on-year increase of 11 percent), while international cargo traffic – was 32,837 tons (a rise of 47 percent).
Furthermore, 65,058 flights were implemented in November 2022, which was six percent more than in November 2021. Meanwhile, the number of domestic flights amounted to 49,219 (a growth of two percent), whereas international flights – 15,839 (a rise of 23 percent).
In November 2022, passenger traffic at all Turkish airports totaled 169.07 million people, whilst cargo turnover stood at 3.69 million tons.
At the end of 2021, passenger movement through all Turkish airports made up 128.387 million people, and cargo turnover – was 3.358 million tons.
