BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 21. Shell has maintained its position as the world’s leading supplier of automotive and industrial oils and fluids, securing the top spot in all three lubricant categories—consumer automotive, commercial automotive, and industrial—according to a report by Kline & Company, Trend reports.

The company holds an 11.6% global market share, with sales evenly split across the three segments: 36% consumer automotive, 33% industrial, and 31% commercial automotive.

Shell’s product portfolio includes well-known lines such as Shell Helix, Rimula, Tellus, and Gadus. The company also introduced an E-Fluids range in 2019, designed to improve efficiency and sustainability in electric vehicle powertrains and other applications, such as data centers and battery energy storage systems.

In support of its target to become a net-zero emissions energy company by 2050, Shell Lubricants is working to reduce emissions from its operations and to assist customers in lowering their carbon footprint. Initiatives include sustainable packaging, circular solutions, and biodegradable products.

Shell’s low-viscosity lubricants can enhance fuel economy by up to 3% and increase industrial energy efficiency by up to 4%.
