President of Eurocement group Holding international company with assets in Russia Mikhail Skorohod paid a working visit to Uzbekistan and inspected the construction of a new cement plant at the site of Akhangarancement plant, Trend reports citing the company's press service.
He discussed the progress of the project with the plant managers and representatives of the contracting company.
The launch of the plant in 2020, combined with the development of a cluster of building materials, will ensure the introduction of innovative technologies for the production of earthquake-resistant concrete products, refractories and other modern products for the growing construction industry in Uzbekistan.
The total capacity of the new enterprise and the existing production line will be 5 million tons of cement per year, and the cluster for the production of building materials based on Akhangarancement will provide the market with high-quality products for housing, industrial and infrastructure projects.
“The construction site is reliably provided with supplies of materials and equipment; this guarantees a high level of quality of work and their completion on time. Taking into account the growing needs of the Uzbek market in building materials, the Eurocement group Holding is most attentive to the construction of a new plant and the creation of a cluster of building materials on its basis,” Skorohod emphasized.
Upon completion of the main general construction works, equipment for the production line will be supplied to the site; more than 4,500 tons of the machinery have already been received.
The manufacturers of the main components and assemblies are leading European companies. In particular, the installation of the latest generation clinker refrigerator was completed, the clinker conveyor, electrical equipment are being installed, internal work is being carried out in the heat exchanger, and the construction of the raw materials warehouse is nearing completion.
The most important role at all production stages of the enterprise is given to aspiration systems that comply with the best world standards to minimize environmental impact.
The project is being implemented within the framework of a memorandum of cooperation and an agreement on the construction of an industrial cluster of building materials between Eurocement group and Uzbekistan’s Uzstroymaterialy building materials manufacturing company, which were signed in the presence of the heads of state and prime ministers of Russia and Uzbekistan. Investments in the project amount to $200 million.
