Industrial projects approved for implementation in Kazakhstan's Almaty

Eleven projects worth 24 billion tenge ($63 million) were approved for implementation in industrial zone in Kazakhstan’s Almaty city, Trend reports with reference to the Facebook page of city’s Head Bakhytzhan Sagintayev.

According to Sagintayev, the city’s akimat (administrative center) held the third meeting of the regional coordination council, which was established in Oct. 2019.

“The participants of the market, heads of industry unions gave recommendations and professional opinion on the projects, which were submitted for implementation in Almaty industrial zone, or decided to exclude the submitted initiatives,” Sagintayev said.

He noted that based on results of three meeting, initiators of 25 projects worth 110 billion tenge ($289 million) of investments were granted permission to implement their projects.

“Some 4,000 new jobs are to be created. Construction of manufacturing production sites will be launched in spring 2020,” Sagintayev said.

He noted that following the council meeting, 11 projects were approved for implementation in the industrial zone. These include construction of a plant for manufacturing of water heaters, electric cables, plastic pipes, as well as pharmaceuticals and drugs.

Sagintayev added that the main requirements for the projects’ initiators are environmental friendliness and production safety, accessible goods cost and high Kazakh content.

“In addition, successful projects such as manufacturing of meat products, as well as the project for manufacturing energy-efficient facades received permission for agreement extension,” he said.
