Azerbaijan's State Housing Development Agency (MIDA) will begin the construction of a new residential complex in the city of Ganja, Head of MIDA press service Maryam Nabiyeva told Trend.

"This year, construction of a new residential complex in Ganja will begin on an area of 6.23 hectares. The central part of the city was chosen as the place for the construction of the residential complex. The complex will be built on the banks of the Ganjachay River," Nabiyeva said.

"It is planned to build 18 buildings with 986 apartments. Currently, the project development is nearing completion. The construction project also provides for the creation of social infrastructure. It is planned to build a kindergarten, a shopping center and other facilities of social significance," Nabiyeva said.

MIDA implements all projects on the basis of the Strategic Road Map for the development of affordable housing in Azerbaijan.

According to the map, it is necessary to minimize public funding and involve private construction and investment companies in cooperation.

To date, the volume of private investment in public-private partnership projects has amounted to $46.8 million. Moreover, in the framework of such projects, the construction of multi-apartment buildings, communication infrastructure and a shopping center has been carried out.
