Some 78 percent of construction work of a new carpet enterprise has already been completed in the city of Bayramaly of Turkmenistan’s Mary region, Trend reports with reference to the Business Turkmenistan information portal.
To date, the administrative center and production shop of the carpet enterprise have already been built. The new factory plans to employ 150 people.
In addition to the Mary region, the construction of Ceper carpet enterprise is expected to be completed in the Ak-Bugday district of Turkmenistan's Akhal region. Also, carpet enterprises will be opened soon in Turkmenistan's Gubadag district of the Dashoguz region and the Halach district of the Lebap region.
Turkmen carpets are recognized as a national symbol and declared as a national treasure.
Turkmenhaly state association is the main supplier of renowned Turkmen handmade pure-wool fleecy carpets from Turkmenistan to the world market.
The main activities of the association are production and sales of Turkmen carpets and carpet products, conservation of hand-making tradition of carpets, and restoration of old carpet ornaments and products.
