Nine large projects in connection with road maintenance are being implemented in the Ardabil Province (northwestern Iran), Deputy Director of the Roads and Urban Development Department of Iran’s Ardabil Province, Ali Yousefzadeh said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.
Yousefzadeh noted that as part of 9 projects, 300 km of highways are being built in Ardabil Province.
The deputy director added that 25 trillion rials (about $595 million) are needed for the completion of the construction of these highways.
"The efforts are made to put into operation a 50 km long road in Ardabil Province every year," he said.
According to Yousefzadeh, so far, 185 km of highways have been put into operation in the province.
