Kazakhstan increases road cargo transportation volumes

Kazakhstan’s revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via road transport amounted to 130.6 billion tenge ($307.4 million) from January through August 2021, which is 18.7 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.

Revenue from the transportation of cargo, luggage, and cargo luggage via road transport in August 2021 amounted to 18.4 billion tenge ($43.3 million), which is 21.2 percent more than during the same period of 2020.

The volume of cargo, luggage and cargo luggage transported via road transport during the reporting period amounted to 1.9 billion tons, which is 3.8 percent less compared to the same period of last year (297.1 million tons in August 2021, down by 0.9 percent year-on-year).

Cargo turnover amounted to 94.4 billion ton-kilometers which is 3.4 percent less than during the same period of last year (14.8 billion in August 2021, an increase of two times).

In turn, Kazakhstan’s revenue from passenger transportation amounted to 58.4 billion tenge ($137.4 million) over the reporting period of 2021, which is 36.1 percent more than during the same period of last year. August revenue from passenger transportation was 7.3 billion tenge ($17.3 million), which is 62.5 percent more compared to August 2020.

The number of transported passengers amounted to 4.1 billion people, which is 40.6 percent less than during the same period of last year (650.4 million passengers in August 2021, up by 2.4 times).

The passenger turnover amounted to 44.4 billion passenger kilometers which compared to the same period of last year is a decrease of 39.4 percent. The passenger turnover in August was 6.9 billion (2.4 times more year-on-year).
