Iran sees record number of applicants registered for National Housing Movement Plan

TEHRAN, Iran, Jan. 10

Applicants for affordable housing in Iran's National Housing Movement Plan are rising to four million people, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

Ministry of Road and Urban Development website indicates 3,967,591 million applicants have registered for affordable housing construction plans.

The registration was available for half of the cities in the country, and the conditions for the remaining cities will be announced soon.

The Iranian government landmark housing project known as the National Housing Movement Plan aims to build four million residential units in the next four years to maintain the surging prices in the housing market.

A total of 750,000 housing units are being constructed as part of the National National Housing Movement Plan.

The government will provide 4.5 billion rials (about $107,000) and 2.5 billion rials (about $59,000) advances for applicants in the city of Tehran and villages for housing construction.
