Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend I.Khalilova / Azerbaijan's Ministry of Economic Development intends to give permanent licenses for several kinds of activities in the Country. The Minister of Economic Development, Heydar Babayev, said on 8 October that currently not all State bodies support this initiative, but the work will continue in this direction.

"We think that it is possible to give permanent licenses because in case of breaking the terms of licensing, the permanent licenses may be ceased or annulled," the Minister said. Currently, work is going on to border the activity spheres, for which permanent and temporary licenses may be given.

The State bodies which do not support this idea consider that the permanent licenses may weaken the State control on these activity kinds.

According to 29 December 2006 order of Azerbaijan President, Ilham Aliyev, on kinds of commercial activities requiring special licensing, the list and amount of duties have been determined. The list includes 50 activity kinds. Earlier the list included 37 kinds.

Depending on the kinds of activities, the amount of the State duty varies between AZN 220 and 25.000.
