Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. I.Khalilova / Rahman Humatov, the director of the Department on International Relations in the Central Bank of Switzerland, came to Baku to offer technical assistance to the National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA), Emin Huseynov, director of the Statistics and Research Department of NBA, said.
Humatov is interested in the activities of the Central Statistics database in the NBA and the inflation forecasting system. Humatov's visit to Azerbaijan will end on 10 October.
The Central Bank expressed its will to continue cooperation with the NBA in different ways during the 2nd meeting of the joint commission in trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Federal Council of Confederation of Switzerland.
Technical assistance will be offered to control payment systems, improve the legal basis for regulating electronic payments and others.
The Central Bank is considering the possibility of technical assistance in the creation of an electronic library.
The Central Bank has been giving assistance in the development in economy modeling and research so far. Cooperation between the Swiss Central Bank and NBA has been ongoing for seven years.
