Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / The Azerbaijani Agriculture Ministry sold about 24,000 tons of agricultural products at 130 fairs in Baku, the Ministry reported.
Some 1,365.2 tons of meat products, 613.1 tons of milk, 8,344.8 tons of eggs, 573.4 tons of cans, 9,581.3 tons of vegetables, 3389.6 tons of potatoes, 2,513.2 tons of melons and gourd, 491.3 tons of grain and 4,936 tons of fruit. Some 208.4 tons of foodstuffs have been sold in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR).
The Ministry is holding negotiations with regions to increase the volume of agricultural products due to the upcoming Ramadan holiday.
"We want to increase the volume of vegetables and seafood," the Ministry reported.
Agricultural fairs have been held in Azerbaijan since July 2006.
Fairs are held in seven districts of Baku: Surakhani, Narimanov, Tasamal, Khatai, Nizami, Binagadi and Nasimi every Saturday and Sunday.
