Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr U. Ismayilova / The prices in Azerbaijan's foodstuff markets will rise by an additional 10% by the end of the year. Since the beginning of this year prices have increased by 20%, the head of the Azerbaijani Free Consumers' Union, Eyyub Huseynov, said on 17 October.
At the beginning of the year, Huseynov forecasted a 30% rise in prices to appear in the foodstuff market.
According to Huseynov, the rise in prices (mainly for agricultural products) will be caused by the change of seasons and deficit in agricultural products.
According to the State Statistics Committee, from January to September the prices for foodstuffs increased 15.3%.
