( Worldcarfans ) - Gravity, intertial force and aerodynamics - Nissan's new GT-R was developed with Earth's natural forces in mind. Which basically translates to an all-new design that manages to maximum tire grip and airflow, creating a truly 'multi-dimensional performance machine' say Nissan. So enough with the small talk, Nissan's most highly anticipated model in years has finally arrived. Let's get straight to business.
Styled from the outset to favour function over form, the GT-R's design embodies a car built to perform, its 'advanced aerodynamics' highlighted by athletic lines that combine effortlessley with 'smooth and solid areas'. Produced using combinations of steel, aluminium and carbon fiber, the perfect balance has been achieved between strength and slightness.
Airflow is of great importance on the GT-R. A low drag co-efficient of 0.27 with high downforce at the front and rear enhances the car's grip in all weathers while maintaining improved fuel efficiency.
Under the bonnet, a 3.6-litre twin-turbo V6 engine sits. Clocking 480 PS and 588 Nm, mated to a six-speed dual clutch transmission, the GT-R is 'the supercar for anyone, anywhere, at anytime'. Speaking of which, although not officially confirmed, the Nissan is likely to make the 0- 60 mph sprint in some 3.5 seconds.
Live shots of the supercar will follow shortly straight from Tokyo, as soon as we can get them to you.
