USAID Completes USAID's Azerbaijan Business Assistance and Development Program

Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr U. Ismayilova / US Agency for International Development has completed a 3-year Azerbaijan Business Assistance and Development (ABAD) program, the coordinator of the program Scott Tailor said.

"The program was intended to increase sales and to open new jobs in Azerbaijani agriculture," he said.

ABAD rendered assistance in expansion of market relations to over 15,000 people. Volume of sales was amounted to $15.5mln and 1.5mln new jobs were opened. Loans in the sum of $1.4mln were allotted to 63 entrepreneurs through leasing operations in urban areas.

Since 1992 USAID invested $284mln to Azerbaijani economics.
