Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend I.Khalilova / The Taxes Ministry of Azerbaijan intends to install more than 2.000 POS-terminals in 2007 in the trade facilities and service sectors of the Country, the Taxes Minister, Fazil Mammadov, said.

He considers that the problems in installing them are linked with the high commissions for the banking operations which do not satisfy the entrepreneurs.

However, form the next year, the POS-terminals will obligatorily be installed in necessary places, the Minister said.

"A pub public control is necessary for it because the users of the plastic cards should require the service facilities to provide cashless settlement," Mammadov said.

According to the information provided by the National Bank of Azerbaijan, as of 1 October 4242 POS-terminals have been installed in Azerbaijan, with 3826 in Baku.

Earlier the Taxes Ministry highlighted its plans to apply cash registers and POS-terminals in the service sector. However, the entrepreneurs refused to install them.
