Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / In January to October the grain production in Azerbaijan decreased by 74.000 tons and made up 2,003,900 tons, a source stated in the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
However, the grain collection exceeds the forecasts of 2mln tons.
The general grain sown area decreased by 44,000 h this year due to the unfavorable weather conditions and made up 740,000 h.
In 2006 the grain production in Azerbaijan made up 2.7mln compared to 3mln tons of demand. The remaining part of the grain is imported.
