Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / The Azerbaijani Government intends to decrease deaths in 5 year olds by 2/3, as well as deaths of women in childbirth by ? and oncological diseases by 25% in 2008 to 2011.
The Government reported that it was planning to increase the number of medical centres involved in compulsory insurance by 10% annually.
The other goal is to increase expenditure in health care services by 1.5 times.
The main priorities are to allocate 35% of state expenditure to health care, in-patient treatment, as well as 65% to first medical care.
In 2006 some AZN 157.8mln was allocated to health care services from the State budget and AZN 270mln in 2007.
